Anantnag: Woman feared terrorist attack for praising Modi, PM directs security

New Delhi: Fearing the danger of terrorist attack, Arjumana from Anantnag district who is among the beneficiaries of Ujawala Yojna was provided with security on the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Arjumana had interacted with PM Modi on 28 May during a conversation with Namo App as one of the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala gas scheme, where she had shared her experience of the scheme from PM Modi. Arjumana said during Ramadan she had prayed for Modi to be re-elected as PM in coming Lok Sabha elections, as it was due to PM she had got the gas connection. <strong>New Delhi:</strong> A video of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has surfaced recently where his outburst of anger on a widow school teacher could be seen. The teacher when approached the CM in his Janta Darbar seeking solution to her problems, she was suspended by him as he had objection to the choice of words used by her. Putting forward her grievances, the teacher appealed to the CM to stop her transfer. She said: “ I have been teaching here since past 25 years. My husband passed away and there is nobody to look after my children. I cannot leave my kids alone, neither can I leave this job. You have to do justice to me.” On this plea of the teacher, CM Rawat questioned her: “Do you remember what had you written in your undertaking during your joining?” On this question the teacher responded by saying that she never wrote that I will face exile (van vaas). The slogan raised by your government is  Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao and not to send them on exile.” The tone of the teacher irked the CM and he said “you’re a working woman, teaching is your profession- speak with decency, You need to learn some grace.” The teacher continued speaking which further infuriated the CM and he threatened of suspending her there and then. The woman then said “You do not need to order my suspension; I would prefer sitting at home rather than teaching now.” Seeing the temper of the Chief Minister, the security guards detained the teacher. New Delhi: In a shocking incident, the exam paper that was prepared for an academic exercise to choose spokespersons for the Congress's Uttar Pradesh unit, got leaked much before the candidates sat for the test on Thursday. The exam paper was already available to the examinees on the social media as the photograph of the test paper surfaced on WhatsApp. Since Rahul Gandhi has become the Congress President, the party has been engaged in connecting new and qualified people. Therefore, in a move to bring in professionalism among party leaders, the Congress on Thursday conducted an exam to choose spokespersons for the party. The party had organized Talent Hunt in Madhya Pradesh for the post of the spokesperson in February this year. Similarly, the same was held in UP for the post of spokesman. Several Congressmen appeared for the written test, which examined their knowledge of current affairs in general and the party in particular. However, the exam paper leak has now made the headline which has brought the examination under controversy. It has been learnt that some Congress service team worker took the photograph of the question paper and put it on the WhatsApp before the examination, because of which the paper leaked. Here are the stories of the two ladies. <strong>Marya Zuberi: </strong> Marya Zuberi was the co-pilot of the aircraft that crashed in Mumbai. She had her roots in Uttar Pradesh's Allahabad and had a family of a husband and a daughter. Maria was very happy as her daughter Bella had won a gold medal few days back. People say that she was going to host a party next week but before that the accident took place. Maria was the first pilot in her family Maria's husband Prabhat Kathuria said that he had SMSed her to see if the flight had landed, but then saw the news on TV. Levelling serious allegations on the aviation company, Maria Zuberi’s husband said that the aircraft that crashed was not in the state of taking a flight, yet it was sent for testing despite bad weather conditions. He blamed the company UY Aviation for her death as the aircraft was not prepared for a test flight considering bad weather. Ltd, which is owned by Kothari, famed for the Pan Parag gutka brand.

5 dead, several injured as gunman opens fire at The Capital newspaper in Annapolis, US

New Delhi: In a horrific incident, at least five people were killed in a shooting when a gunman opened fire in the newsroom of a daily newspaper in the US state of Maryland on Friday. As per the report, the person suspected is a white adult male who opened fire through a glass door at the Capital Gazette newspaper and sprayed the newsroom with gunfire killing multiple employees presented in the newsroom. It is estimated that at least three people were wounded in the shooting at the building that houses the Capital Gazette, a newspaper published in Annapolis. The cops have meanwhile taken the suspect into their custody and the probe is underway. Marc Limansky, the spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Police Department said the officers are searching the building where the shooting was reported. He said the situation is active and ongoing. The newspaper is located in a four-story office building in Annapolis, the capital of the US state of Maryland and a historic city an hour east of Washington. As per reports, people were seen leaving the building with their hands up, as police officers urged them to depart through a parking lot and officers converged on the building. A reporter for the Capital Gazette, Phil Davis, took to Twitter and wrote about the tragedy in which he mentioned that a gunman shot through the glass door to the office and opened fire on multiple employees. He said several people were killed. "There is nothing more terrifying than hearing multiple people get shot while you're under your desk and then hear the gunman reload," Davis wrote. Meanwhile, the White House has confirmed that President Donald Trump had been briefed about the incident. "ATF Baltimore is responding to a shooting incident at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis," the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, and Tobacco said on Twitter. Calling the tragedy as devastating, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan appealed the masses, "Please, heed all warnings and stay away from the area. As per the reports, the engineers working of reconstruction of the road have blamed the water from the drains for the breaking down of the road. The underpass that has been made for the Delhi-Meerut expressway also revealed a poor engineering as a good amount of water got impounded in the underpass after a light rainfall. It is becoming an ordeal for the people to cross the road. The Delhi-Meerut expressway that got damaged after the very first showers has put a question mark on the quality of work by the Ministry. Many killed in Nigeria fuel tanker explosion

<strong>Abuja:</strong> Scores of people were feared dead on Thursday evening when a fuel-laden tanker exploded amid traffic in Nigeria's commercial city of Lagos, with the blaze engulfing many vehicles, media reports said. The crash occurred on a bridge as the tanker headed out of Lagos, toward the 127.6 km Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Nigeria's southwest region, Xinhua reported. The local Channels Television reported that traffic has been stopped on both sides of the road and emergency officials are at the scene trying to put out the fire and attend to those affected. Many people were seen trapped in their cars amid the raging fire, eyewitnesses said. There was a mild traffic on the bridge when the explosion occurred, said Gbolahan Adebisi, a commercial bus driver who witnessed the incident. Local emergency officials said about 60 vehicles were seen to have been affected by the fire so far.

Amarnath Yatra: Security beefs up at Udhampur Railway Station

<p>Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 29 (ANI): Security arrangements at the Udhampur railway station in Jammu and Kashmir have been increased to avoid any untoward incident during the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.</p><p>Speaking on the security arrangements, Ranjit Singh Sambyal, Senior Superintendent of Police (Railways) said that they upped the security as they are expecting Amarnath pilgrims to take the railway route.</p><p>"We expect the Amarnath pilgrims will adopt the railway route also, especially Udhampur. We have deployed our quick action team at the main entry. There are X-ray machines, bag scanners, dog squads etc. Railway protection force is assisting us," said SSP Sambyal.</p><p>The police have also launched a 24*7 helpline for the pilgrims.</p><p>"We have launched a 24*7 helpline to help them wherever they are and at any time of the day. Our personnel are patrolling around the tracks, tunnels round the clock," he added.</p><p>The first batch of Amarnath pilgrims flagged off on Tuesday (June 27). It was however halted on Thursday due to heavy rainfall, at the Baltal base camp. The yatra resumed in a few hours after the water cleared out and weather condition improved.</p><p>Nearly two lakh pilgrims from across the country have reportedly registered themselves for the Yatra.</p><p>Such security measures have been taken keeping in mind the ceasefire violations from across the border and various other terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir.</p><p>On July 10 last year, at least nine Amarnath pilgrims were killed and 19 others were injured in an attack on the bus in Anantnag district. Landslide blocks Manali-Leh highway

<p>Manali (Himachal Pradesh) [India], June 29 (ANI): The Manali-Leh National Highway-3 has been blocked due to a landslide at Marhi, nearly 30 kilometres from Manali in Himachal Pradesh.</p><p>Heavy rain in the area for the past 24 hours caused the landslide.</p><p>The landslide happened late night on Thursday and came into light by early morning on Friday. The local administration was informed by the commuters at around six in the morning.</p><p>Border Roads Organisation (BRO) officer Avril Jain confirmed the landslide and said that the road would be clear soon.</p><p>"The road clearing operation has started and would be done soon for the traffic. Machines have been deputed along with the BRO engineering team," said Jain.</p><p>Police have been deployed to monitor the traffic situation.</p><p>Meanwhile, a major landslide blocked the National Highway 94, near Hindolakhaal in Uttarakhand. <strong>New Delhi:</strong> A video of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has surfaced recently where his outburst of anger on a widow school teacher could be seen. The teacher when approached the CM in his Janta Darbar seeking solution to her problems, she was suspended by him as he had objection to the choice of words used by her. Putting forward her grievances, the teacher appealed to the CM to stop her transfer. She said: “ I have been teaching here since past 25 years. My husband passed away and there is nobody to look after my children. I cannot leave my kids alone, neither can I leave this job. You have to do justice to me.” On this plea of the teacher, CM Rawat questioned her: “Do you remember what had you written in your undertaking during your joining?” On this question the teacher responded by saying that she never wrote that I will face exile (van vaas). The slogan raised by your government is  Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao and not to send them on exile.” The tone of the teacher irked the CM and he said “you’re a working woman, teaching is your profession- speak with decency, You need to learn some grace.” The teacher continued speaking which further infuriated the CM and he threatened of suspending her there and then. The woman then said “You do not need to order my suspension; I would prefer sitting at home rather than teaching now.” Seeing the temper of the Chief Minister, the security guards detained the teacher. Twarit Rajya: CCTV captured take-off of Chartered plane which crashed in Mumbai

At least five people were killed in a small chartered plane crash in the thickly populated suburb of Ghatkopar in north-east Mumbai on Thursday. The plane came down mere six minutes after take-off. Maria Kuber, the pilot used presence of mind to avert a very big disaster by trying to land near the under-construction building and not near the highly-populated localities. Unfortunately, she too lost her life in the tragic accident.<br /><br />"Two pilots, two Aircraft Maintenance Engineers on board & one person on ground are dead in the chartered plane crash in Mumbai's Ghatkopar," said Directorate General of Civil Aviation to news agency ANI.<br /><br />Names of the deceased:<br />Pradeep Rajput - Co-pilot<br />Surabhi - Technician<br />Maria Kuber - Pilot<br />Manish Pandey - Technician<br /><br />Eyewitnesses at Sarvodaya Nagar said the plane was seen hurtling down amid rain and crashed with a deafening roar before bursting into flames at around 1.30 p.m. Local residents said they heard two to three explosions and assumed it was a gas cylinder blast. The cause of which is not known - occurred in the premises of a building under construction.<br /><br />As per preliminary information, the aircraft was on a test flight and had taken off from the Juhu Airport minutes before it crashed, reported news agency IANS.<br /><br />ABP News Sources said the aircraft did not belong to UP Govt. It was sold in 2014 to a private company UY Aviation. UY aviation is owned by one Kothari.<br /><br />Disturbing visuals of a man caught on fire emerged after the crash. He was also said to be killed in the crash. It appears he was a worker at the construction site as a measuring tape was found from his pocket. He has been identified as Govind Pandit.<br /><br />The plane reportedly belongs to Uttar Pradesh government. A DGCA team on way to Mumbai for preliminary investigation into plane crash,"said DG Civil Aviation B S Bhullar to news agency PTI. "Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau to conduct detailed probe into the crash, " he said.<br /><br />Investigators have found the black box that provides invaluable data and helps in figuring out what led to the crash.<br /><br />'UY Aviation responsible for crash'<br /><br />Pilot Maria Kuber’s husband Prabhat Kathuria has blamed the company UY Aviation for her death as the aircraft was not prepared for a test flight considering bad weather. Kathuria said he had spoken to Captain Pradeep Rajput and Maria last night and both were certain of the test flight not taking place on Thursday.<br /><br />Kathuria said UY Avitation despite noting bad weather forced the pilots and technicians to take off the flight further which the tragedy took place. He said the comapny's CEO Anil Chauhan did not even meet the grieving family members following the mishap.<br /><br />Maria had 1,000-hours of flight experience. She had shifted to Mumbai 15 years ago. Kathuria said she left their Mira Road residence at 8 am in the morning. He messaged her "Where are you"at 1 pm but did not receive any response from her.
